Microtransactions in a fully priced single player game is just a really stupid move. That's also why they got microtransactions in a full priced game. There is a chance they will go back to 2D art, but that's provided that they don't go bankrupt in the meantime. UNFORTUNATELY that cause performance issues, because now instead of only viewing 1 angle of spriteworks every model has their whole model on screen at all times no matter the perspective, which causes the performance issues.
